Certified Nurse Aides

There is a change on the State of Michigan LARA website for CNAs – Nurse Aide Registry.

“Effective March 23, 2026, an attestation must be provided indicating that at least 12 hours annually of continuing education has been completed within the renewal period [Rule 400.315].  Continuing education must ensure the continuing competence of the nurse aide and must include abuse, neglect, and care plan training.”

Additional information including a list of approved CE providers can be found here:
https://www.michigan.gov/lara/bureau-list/bchs/nurse-aide-registry

Some, but not all, of MNA’s online CE modules may be applicable to this new requirement. Per our disclaimer at the bottom of this page, we want to ensure that CNAs are investigating exactly what is required by the state and their employer.
