Bethanie McCullough

Running for: President, Grievance Chair, Negotiating Committee
My name is Bethanie McCullough and I am a nurse practitioner with the neurosurgery team at the Lansing campus. I have worked at Sparrow for the last ten years - first as a nurse in the Pediatric ICU and then as a nurse practitioner for almost 8 years. As an APP, I’ve worked in various departments including cardiothoracic and vascular surgery and trauma surgery in addition to my current role with neurosurgery and had the privilege of working with many other APPs in these various settings.
I have the unique perspective of having worked in different environments in my time as an APP. I currently split my time between the ambulatory/clinic setting and the operating room as a surgical assistant. I have also worked for consulting services in the hospital and as a primary medical service while rounding in the hospital throughout med surg, stepdown, and critical care. I know that this varied experience allows me to bring a deeper understanding of the various roles that we as APPs hold that we need to ensure are equally represented in our new union.
I am looking forward to the positive changes that we all can accomplish as we move forward together as a united voice. I know from my conversations with many of you that there are areas of frustration and needed change, but there are also strengths that we can build upon and continue to grow and develop to make Sparrow a great place for APPs. I hope to continue learning from all of you as we move forward with our new union and this new direction at UMH-Sparrow.
Tracy Pride
Running for: President, Negotiating Committee (Write-in candidate)
I am nominated for President of CAPP. I have worked as a PA since 2003 for general cardiology until 2015 and EP since then. I started in 1997 at Sparrow at a stress tech, went to PA school at CMU and have done cardiology ever since. I worked for private practice until 2012 and since with Mclaren cardiology and since 2015 TCI/EP.
I have worked on both campaigns to get the union for our profession as APP's,
I feel we have not been heard. I work with both NPs and PAs and although our titles are different, our roles are the same. I happy to be a part of such a great group of professionals.
As President, I will do my best to lead our union to help organize a productive and meaning task of getting a contract that works for all the areas of APPs. I want to help represent our profession; to get the attention and care we need to do the best job we can do for our patients.
If anyone has questions, you call me at 517494091 or just take my number and I can will listen and see how I can help.

Tyler Greshow

Running for: President, Vice President, Negotiating Committee, Nominations Committee
Tyler Greshow, RN, BSN, FNP-C, has been a registered nurse since 2012, with the majority of his 14-year career spent at Sparrow. He transitioned to an Advanced Practice Provider role in July 2019 and has continued to serve exclusively within the Sparrow system. Tyler’s clinical background includes work as a hospitalist, where he still practices on a per diem basis, along with his current role in interventional radiology.
Tyler has been actively involved in organizational initiatives throughout his career, including participation on the MAGNET Committee and the APP Committee. Through these roles, he has built strong working relationships with both colleagues across the CAPP group and members of administration, earning a reputation for collaboration and trust.
As the newly elected CAPP Union President, Tyler is committed to advocating for a strong, fair first contract that reflects the value and contributions of APPs. He is honored to have the support of his peers and looks forward to working alongside both membership and leadership to ensure APPs are respected, protected, and positioned for long-term success within the organization.
Mary Boudreau
Running for: Vice President, Negotiating Committee, Bylaws Committee
I would be honored to serve in any position in our inaugural union, and would demand the respect that our members deserve for the critical work that we do. I have a long history of speaking out and as I "mature " I am more committed than ever to leaving a legacy of fairness and justice. I am a nurse practitioner at Lansing Internal Medicine, and was previously at Sparrow Senior Health, which was closed by Sparrow's administration. I am also a Social Worker who is proud to have taught and mentored nurse practitioner students through the years. I will gladly support the leaders of our union in our work together to improve care for our team and our patients.
Thank you
Mary Boudreau, DNP
Monica Dottei

Running for: Vice President
My name is Monica Dottei PA-C and I am running for Vice President of the Council of Advanced Practice Providers to advocate for a stronger, more unified voice for APPs. As a Physician Assistant with 10 years of experience within this system, I have seen firsthand how the absence of a strong APP voice can impact both providers and patient care. Throughout my time here, I have built many strong relationships across departments, which I believe is essential for effective advocacy and collaboration.
I believe in leadership that prioritizes transparency, open communication, and mutual respect, things I have learned in my near completion of my Doctorate in Healthcare Practice and Administration from Butler University. This degree will further strengthen my ability to advocate effectively and lead with a systems-level perspective.
I will work to strengthen engagement within our union, address workplace challenges proactively, and ensure every member feels supported and valued. Together, we can build an environment where APPs are empowered, respected, and equipped to provide the highest quality care.
Monica Dottei PA-C
Pamela Stave
Running for: Treasurer, Negotiating Committee
I have been a PA for over 25 years in the Sparrow health system with experience in outpatient, inpatient and hybrid settings. I also take night call, have weekend shifts and travel to satellite clinics. My extensive and varied experience will help me provide insight into the variety of settings and experience our group represents.
I am advocating for a fair, transparent, and sustainable workplace for mid levels in our health system. My mission and serving on the negotiating committee is to ensure that the voices of APP ‘ s our represented in decisions that impact our clinical practice, clinical growth, and overall well-being.
I will work to promote equitable compensation, safe staffing, standards, and clear pathway for career advancements while fostering a collaborative relationship between providers and hospital leadership.
Kristen Coble
Running for: Secretary, Negotiating Committee (Write in candidate)
I have been an active member of the MNA APP organizing committee and would like to continue serving our fledgling union as we move forward with our inaugural contract. I am an APP in Neurosurgery on night shift at Sparrow main. Prior to my current position, I have worked as an APP in a non-Sparrow outpatient urgent care, and as a hospitalist with Vituity. I first joined Sparrow in 2015 as an RN. I was actively involved in PECSH-MNA on the BATS team and also completed the MNA Advocacy Academy.
I'm excited to have the opportunity to represent our APPs across our organization. I have experience in the Secretary role of other organizations and clubs, such as Phi Theta Kappa and Student Nursing Association. Prior to becoming an RN, I was a project manager in the banking industry for 18 years. I have the organizational skills and experience to fulfill the role of Secretary for our union. I am a strong supporter of our union rights and will be a strong advocate for all of our APPs.
I am also running as a write-in candidate for the Bargaining Committee. I am committed to being an active member at the Bargaining table to represent the needs of all of our APP units as we negotiate our first contract. I am able to fulfill the time commitment for the role. I kindly ask you to vote for me as a write-in candidate for this team. Thank you for your consideration!
Mary Jacobs
Running for for: Grievance Chair and Negotiating Committee
Many of you know me already, but for those who don’t, I’ve been at Sparrow for 25 years. I was born here, I’ve built my career here, and this is where I plan to retire. This place and the people in it mean a lot to me.
I started as an RN and spent 12 years in the PESCH union, now as a NP and have spent the last 13 years in urgent care and primary care. During my time as an RN, I worked closely with MNA and served for 3 years as a grievance rep, including time on second table during contract negotiations.
I’ve also been part of this union from the beginning—helping organize a few years ago and again in this most recent successful effort. I know how much work, time, and courage it took for all of us to build this, and I want to help make sure it stays strong.
Over the years, I’ve stayed involved at Sparrow through various committees, and I currently serve on the State Board of Nursing. I care deeply about our profession and about doing right by both our patients and each other.
If I’m elected, my focus is simple:
Be approachable and available when you need help
Make sure your concerns are heard and taken seriously
Know the contract and use it to protect you
Advocate for fair treatment and safe working conditions
This union is ours. We built it together, and now we need to support each other and make it work.
I’d really appreciate your support.
Mary Jacobs, NP
Here for you. Invested in this place. Ready to do the work.
Jennifer Moilanen

Running for for: Negotiating Committee, MNA Delegate
My name is Jennifer Moilanen NP-c. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner providing rural primary care through U of M Sparrow Ionia in Saranac, where I have proudly served the same community for the past 14 years. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Central Michigan University, followed by a Bachelor's in Nursing from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and a Master's degree (FNP) from Michigan State University. Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner, I spent 7 years as an ICU nurse and charge nurse which shaped my commitment to teamwork and advocacy.
I am running for a position as part of this union because, for too long, I have felt that my voice-and the voices of my colleagues-have not been fully heard. I believe that every APP deserves meaningful representation and a seat at the table where decisions are made that impact our livelihoods, our practice and our patients. I want to be an active and informed member of this union so that APPs in all areas and specialties feel as if they have a say. I hope to bring more of a sense of community to the APPs in the outlying and isolated practices.
I look forward to working with everyone to build our union.
Lori Fitzpatrick
Running for: Negotiating Committee
Hi, everyone! I've been at Sparrow for 11 years, and I am the Lead Nurse-Midwife in OB Emergency (formerly OB triage). I also work in L&D, first assist in our OR, and work closely with educating our incoming OB residents.
I've been involved in starting a union for the last 2 years. It's been a lot of work but it has paid off! I firmly believe we will be stronger together, supporting each other. I see the need for transparency, better staffing, and equitable pay/benefits, to make this THE place to be as an APP. We are always focused on quality and excellence in patient care, and we can continue to make those outcomes our priority by working together.
I would be honored to serve on the bargaining committee, representing the hospitalist APPs. I would reach out to each specialty, and get input from you on what you see as the priorities, and take this to the table. I would keep the lines of communication open and responsive in both directions. Let's do this! -Lori Fitzpatrick, CNM, PhD
Rebecca (Becky) Freel
Running for: Nominations Committee
I’m a nurse and Advanced Practice Provider with more than a decade of experience serving patients, supporting colleagues, and advocating for our profession. I’ve been a nurse at Sparrow since 2010 and have proudly worked as an APP since 2017. Throughout my career, I’ve remained committed to delivering high-quality patient care while standing up for the providers and staff who make that care possible every day.
I was a proud member of the PESCH union while a bedside nurse. I believe a strong union is essential to protecting our voices, strengthening our workplace, and ensuring we continue providing the best care for our patients. I am committed to supporting a united, engaged membership and advocating for the respect, fairness, and representation every provider deserves.
I’m running because I believe in the strength of our collective voice and in building a stronger future for our profession—together.
Michael Shaw

Running for: Bylaws Committee
I am honored to submit my candidacy for the Bylaws Committee of the Michigan Nurses Association (MNA) – Council of Advanced Practice Providers (CAPP). As a healthcare professional with extensive leadership experience, I am committed to strengthening the structural integrity and operational clarity of our council.
Since May 2025, I have served as a Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner. My clinical expertise is supported by 12 years of service as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy Nurse Corps, where I learned that clear regulations are the bedrock of effective operations. Prior to joining UMH Sparrow, I spent nine years as an active member of MNA UMPNC at Michigan Medicine.
I am running for this committee because I recognize that bylaws are the legally binding internal rules that function as our union’s constitution. These documents define our operational framework, protect member rights, and ensure officer responsibilities are clearly delineated. My experience with union language has shown me that precise bylaws are essential for maintaining democratic procedures and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
If elected, I will work to:
· Modernize our governing documents to ensure they remain a "living constitution" that evolves alongside our clinical practice.
· Guarantee seamless integration between our bylaws and newly negotiated contract language to prevent operational friction.
· Standardize democratic protocols for elections and decision-making to eliminate ambiguity and foster a more transparent, high-functioning union.
I aim to ensure our bylaws function as a robust tool for empowerment rather than a source of ambiguity. I appreciate your consideration.
In solidarity,
Michael G. Shaw MSN, RN, EMT-P, FNP-BC, CCRN, CFRN
