About the event: Please join us for a live, interactive discussion of non-pharmacologic pain relief and licensure protection for nurses. Attendees will learn about current challenges and limitations of pharmacologic pain management, including risks associated with opioid use. We will discuss how to integrate non-pharmacologic strategies into patient care plans, including education and documentation considerations. Attendees will also review the nurse’s role as a patient advocate and educator in promoting comfort and reducing reliance on prescription pain medications. During the second half of the session, attendees will learn about the licensure process including the Michigan Public Health Code and nursing rules. Presenters will also review the nursing scope of practice and implications of the ANA code of ethics on nursing practice.
